The set up:
  • 100% crops
  • See file name on pic for f-stop and lens
  • Nikon D90
  • ISO 400
  • Minimum shutter speed 1/400
  • Maximum shutter speed 1/2000
  • Exposure Delay Mode ON (similar to mirror lock up)
  • Remote shutter release
  • 21ft from target
  • Gitzo tripod
  • Induro BHD2 ballhead, full lock down
  • 1000 watts of light
I did everything I could think of to make a fair test. The ISO is at 400 because I really wanted fast shutter speeds. Even though I had everything locked down on a tripod, with a remote and exposure delay mode on, I figured it would be better to bring the ISO up a tad, and get really fast shutter speeds.
